Hi I am Andrew McCormack and I have made available my range of coaching and equipment options online.

McCormack Tennis Coaching (MTC) has coached thousands of keen tennis players ranging from beginners of all ages through to advanced level juniors and seniors. MTC encompasses schools in the greater Hobart area and conducts club-based activities at the Geilston Bay Tennis Club and Domain Tennis Club.

 

Andrew McCormack

I have been coaching tennis for 24 years. I am an Advanced Level 2 coach, a nationally accredited Tennis Professional and a member of Tennis Coaches Australia. I currently hold a position on the examination panel for the Tennis Coaches Australia, Tasmanian division.

My experience extends to all facets of club and tournament tennis activities. This includes managing and coaching junior state representative teams and holding state and southern administrative positions. During 1995 and 2000 I was honoured to be selected as the Tennis Tasmania Coach of the year.

I have represented Tasmania many times as both a junior and senior player. I played in 11 open senior singles finals and was selected as a Reserve in the Australian 35 and over team for 2001.

LYN PALFREY

MTC utilises the services of Lyn Palfrey who is a Development Level 1 tennis coach having played tennis for 35 years. Lyn has represented the State in both junior and senior teams on many occasions. With Lyn’s wealth of experience we are very fortunate to have her involved in our various junior and senior programs.

TIM JOHNSTONE

Tim is an accredited level1 development TCA coach. Tim has a long history of working with  Andrew and has gained much experience working around Hobart and Queensland at various schools and clubs.
Tim is currently coaching within the Tennis Tasmania State program supervising a Southern Milo and futures squad.
Tim was a junior champion representing Tasmania in both junior and senior level. From 1992-1995 Tim travelled to North Carolina to study and play college tennis making all conference. He also played satellite circuits and selected challenger events around the country.
Tim has won over 6 open tennis titles and numerous doubles titles and was ranked number 1 in Tasmania in 1995. He also managed State teams and has been a member of the player development board.
Tim is currently the No1 player in Southern Tasmania.
Tim  won the percentages in the Domain Twilight pennant during early 2006 beating all other number 1 players.

TONY BLOM

Tony is an trainee development coach. Tony is an A-Grade player and has extensive experience, having coached at various centres around Australia.

We enjoy coaching people of all standards and encourage any participation in

“The Game for Life”.

Our Coaching Philosophy

McCormack Tennis Coaching is committed to developing pathways for participation and development for both junior and senior players.

The aim is to create a fun environment in which to develop new skills while being instructed in the latest and correct techniques.

The level of involvement in social or competitive formats will be decided by each player as they develop and their needs change
